RPOA Landlord and Real Estate Investor Training & Events
The RPOA provides a wide array of training opportunities for landlords and real estate investors. Many of our courses offer continuing education credits for licensed real estate agents and brokers in Michigan.
No need to leave the comfort of your location! Sit back and learn through the ease of our online video training for landlords and real estate investors. Our goal is to provide all of our courses online for you to enjoy. For members, some of these short training videos are free. Other comprehensive courses are available for viewing for a small fee and can be purchased by members and non-members. Check out our current line-up of videos and keep coming back to find new added options.
In addition to online training, the RPOA offers each of its classes in a live format enabling attendees to ask questions and network with other investors and landlords. Many of the courses offer continuing education credits for licensed real estate agents and brokers in Michigan.
Most of the courses also count towards the RPOA’s Professional Home Provider© certification program, a comprehensive training curriculum including courses from how to buy and sell rental property, how to do evictions, wage garnishment, land contracts, seller financing, and more. Each year the RPOA host the largest real estate investor and landlord conference in Michigan. The event has featured national real estate investor speakers including such luminaries as Jeffrey Taylor, Robin Thompson, Lou Brown, Robert Shemin, Wendy Patton, Ron LeGrand, Vena Jones-Cox, Marko Rubel, Nick Sidoti, Than Merrill and more. In addition, many breakout sessions are offered to cover local and important topics. The event attracts in excess of 500 attendees and over 30 exhibitors each year.
The RPOA offers an intensive training and certification program with over 15 offerings. The in-depth seminars include courses on property management, rental property ownership, and other related topics. The PHP program consists of several core courses for landlords and real estate investors. The PHP is an excellent way to gain an in- depth understanding of the business and build credibility in the community. Most of the courses also offer continuing education credit hours for licensed real estate professionals in Michigan. Those completing the courses will also receive a designation as a Professional Housing Provider through the National Real Estate Investors Association (NREIA).
Each week the RPOA host a real estate investor & landlord networking breakfast where attendees can network with like-minded professionals and share haves and wants and learn about the latest trends in the industry.
Each month the RPOA co-sponsors the West Michigan REI Club networking group held at various locations throughout the Grand Rapids area.
